Minister: Russia to connect 60% of remote houses to gas in '21–22

MOSCOW, Jul 26 (PRIME) -- The Russian government expects that 60% of 4 million listed houses will receive gas under an additional gasification program in 2021–2022, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters on Monday.

"We all understand that up to 4 million households in 36,000 towns have no access to gas. But not all of them will apply, this is certain. We expect that about 60% of them potentially will," Novak said.

He added that the government has fulfilled works under about 20,000 applications since April 21. Russia has a united operator Gazprom Gazifikatsiya and plans to establish regional operators as well.
